Catch a Brainrot Player Index & Dex XP

How the collection dex, Player XP, and capture achievements work — and why the index is the fastest early account-level source.

Player Index & Account Level

Player XP is separate from Brainrot EXP. The index is the fastest early account level source: every new species you capture registers in the dex and pushes your Player level, which unlocks Rot Box tiers at the Rot Center. Brainrot EXP only levels the creature you used in battle.

First-Catch Player XP

Common+50 XP
Uncommon+75 XP
Rare+100 XP
Epic+150 XP

Capture Achievement Stars

Repeat catches feed stars after the dex entry exists.

Common / Uncommon
5 catches, then 10
Rare
4 catches, then 8
Epic
3 catches, then 6

Index Route Checklist

1
Pick your starter

Claim a starter (Triple T Sahur, Fluri Flura, or Boneca Ambalabu) at the Rot Lab.

2
Clear Rot Forest commons

Sweep common/uncommon spawns with cheap Rot Boxes for fast index XP.

3
Push key routes

Finish key routes so late-half spawns appear before hunting for rarities.

4
Enter Snow Forest stocked

Go into the Snow Forest zones only with enough box stock for the local species.

5
Cross-check your list

A missing species usually means a locked route half, not a broken spawn. Check the full Brainrot list.

Player Index FAQ

What is the Player Index in Catch a Brainrot?

The Player Index is the in-game collection dex that tracks the Brainrots you have caught. Every new species you capture registers in the dex and grants Player XP, which levels your account and unlocks shop Rot Box tiers at the Rot Center. Player XP is separate from Brainrot EXP, which only levels the creature you used in battle.

How much Player XP do you get per first catch?

Community-reported values (July 2026): Common +50, Uncommon +75, Rare +100, and Epic +150 Player XP for a new index entry. These are community observations and may change with patches.

How do capture achievement stars work?

After the first catch registers a species, repeat catches of the same species earn achievement stars. Reported thresholds: Common/Uncommon 5 then 10, Rare 4 then 8, Epic 3 then 6. Values are community-reported.

Does selling a Brainrot remove my index progress?

No. Index credit applies on capture. You can sell duplicate Brainrots for Coins without losing the dex entry.

What is the best route to fill the index?

Clear Rot Forest commons and uncommons first with cheap Rot Boxes for fast Player XP, push key routes to unlock later spawns, then move to the Snow Forest zones with a stronger box stock.
